Defeating the negative feedback loops that exist in our mind is the key.
While it may seem silly, I believe our struggles with relationships - whether that be breakups, divorces, toxic friendships and family - have less to do with others and more to do with ourselves. Stick with me here.
We look for, cultivate, and maintain the kind of relationships in our lives that we believe we deserve. When we have low self-image and efficacy - we don't think we deserve much and we don't think ourselves capable of achieving much - we become the type of person that occupies that space and invite in others who believe the same.
Change happens when we begin to think of ourselves in a different way. Once we begin to change the fundamental statements that we see as truth, we see these new beliefs move into both our internal and external world. Meanwhile these conversations happen between swings.
